This hike, with very little difference in altitude when climbing up but a large difference in altitude when descending, begins at Reinhold Messner’s museum ’Alpine Curiosa’ in Sulden. The first part of route no. 6 leads under the edge of the woods past the pension Schönblick and comes to a road that you follow for almost 1 km. There is a turning on the right for ’Waldruhe’. Continue on the forest path and after a varied footpath through spruce woods cross the murmuring brook ’Razoybach’ and then you arrive at ’Unterthurner Lawinengraben’ and a short time later, on the mountain pasture, ’Valnairer Alm’ with its large cross at 2007 m above sea level. Here you have reached the highest point of the hike and from now on it is downhill. Route no. 6, the earlier mountain path, rises relatively steeply at first along the edge of the lower mountain pasture downwards and leads to ’Hochstücklwald’. The route continues with short steep sections in the direction of ’Prader Berg’ until you come close to ’Untervalnairhof’ at about 1340 m above sea level on the road. From now on follow the road straight through the meadows and past the farms in the direction of Prad to ’Dürren Ast’ at 1050m above sea level. Now follow the last part of our path downhill through ’Theinenwiesen’ past St John’s Church to Prad.
