Welcome to Karners

The Garden Park Hotel was built in 2006 and put up for sale in 2009 after three years of management. Another three years passed until, in autumn 2012, Sabine and Alfred Karner were the only bidders at the auction to purchase the hotel.

The time until the first Christmas at the Garden Park Hotel was invested in bringing the building back to shape. From now on, more projects were to follow constantly, many of them technical and invisible to the guests, but important to simplify the hotel’s operations.

In 2015, the small sauna area became a new, spacious and light-flooded wellness facility. Saunas and baths, warmth and fragrances as well as gentle sounds were from now on to whisk guests away into a relaxing world and enable deep relaxation of the lasting kind.

In 2016, the dining room was modernised to provide the right ambience for the culinary experiences. The existing indoor swimming pool was also renovated, and the rock water features were put back into operation. A legionella disinfection control was installed to protect guests and the sprinkler system was overhauled.

The year 2017 was still dominated by carpeting. Hallways and many rooms were newly laid. In some rooms, the carpet was replaced with wooden flooring.

In 2018, the fire alarm system was renewed, lamps and lights were replaced.

In 2019 came the major expansion. The hotel ended the summer season already in mid-October to start the construction work. The buffet area in the dining room was also completely rebuilt and adapted to the new needs. The new house bar was inaugurated just in time for the Christmas season. A new server and new software for the dining hall and kitchen should facilitate the work processes from now on. A new wood chip heating system was put into operation.

In 2020, work on the new building continued and was to last three years to enable guests to enjoy an undisturbed holiday and to stabilise the financing.

Even though the world came to a standstill in 2021 due to the corona virus, the new building was nevertheless courageously realised. Due to the legally imposed shutdown, the construction time was shortened and by the end of April 23 Dream rooms, 9 family rooms and 2 wellness suites had been created.

Plus, the new water world with 14m indoor pool, indoor whirlpool, 25m saltwater pool and a cold water plunge pool in the garden. Underground parking spaces for all new rooms, four charging points for e-cars, a ski depot, a bike depot, a billiard room and an event hall round off the expansion. So, nothing stood in the way of the opening in May and the season could begin. To make work easier for the maids, the house laundry was expanded and equipped with new machines.

In 2022, the Garden Park’s water world was expanded with a 14m swimming pond in the garden, a children’s playroom was added, and the bar terrace was covered with an awning. A photovoltaic system was also installed in the spirit of sustainability.

2023: Due to the strong demand for the wellness suites with whirlpool, four more rooms were equipped with whirlpools on the balcony. Due to the stay of the U21 team of the German Football Association, video surveillance was installed in the entire building.

Construction 2025

From October 2024 to May 2025, the Alba extension will be added to our hotel – an innovative project that offers new perspectives for our guests and our team. In the new part of the building, we have created the elegant Garden Alba rooms, which inspire with their modern design, sophisticated furnishings and special atmosphere. They are ideal for early risers and anyone who loves the morning sun – with garden views and bright rooms for a perfect start to the day.

At the same time, the construction of eight high-quality employee apartments is an active response to one of the greatest challenges of our time: finding qualified and committed employees and retaining them in the long term. With modern living facilities in the immediate vicinity of the hotel, we are sending out a strong signal for an attractive and contemporary working environment. In addition, there is a newly created lounge and optimized internal routes that make everyday working life easier and processes more efficient.

Thought has also gone behind the scenes: the hotel kitchen has been extensively modernized and now offers even more space and state-of-the-art equipment for smooth daily operations.
For our guests, an additional underground garage with extra parking spaces has been created for a comfortable and relaxed arrival at any time of year
