Timmelsjoch

Route: Prad – Glurns – Mals – Reschenpass – Landeck – Imst – Ötztal – Längenfeld – Sölden – Timmelsjoch – Passeiertal – St. Leonhard – Meran – Vinschgau – Prad

Length: 230 km

From Prad we start direction Glurns. After passing the mediaeval little town we go to Mals and turn left at the traffic lights to the Reschensee lake.

We enjoy the view over the lake and the church steeple rising out of the lake and continue to the Italian-Austrian border and farther on to Nauders, down the curvy road passing Finstermünz. We ride through the Oberinntal valley to Landeck and continue to Imst.

From Imst we go on to Heiming an right before the village we turn right into the Ötztal valley. Following the main road we pass several villages among others Längenfeld and the legendary skiing-village Sölden.

Now we take direction Timmelsjoch (2497m). After a short break and enjoying a wonderful panorama we go down the other side through the Passeiertal valley. In St. Leonhard we turn right and follow the road to Meran. We pass the city and ride back to the Vinschgau Valley and it’s orchards to Prad.
